Wing on Wo’s second artist line INFINITE BEGINNINGS centers on the theme of protection and transformation, exploring the ways in which decorative objects can act as armor — balancing softness and strength in how Asian femmes move through our everyday. Inspired by Chinese creation mythologies and Author K-Ming Chang‘s breathtaking myth, our collection is grounded in this idea of repetition and ritual in one’s journey of finding their own power and strength. On November 12, 2022, we premiered video portraits in-store inspired by our collection in collaboration with Artist Heidi Lau.
We invited Eddy Kwon to embody the protagonist of our mythical world of grounding and transformation. Eddy’s practice connects composition, performance, improvisation, dance, and ceremony to explore transformation & transgression, ritual practice as a tool to queer ancestral lineage, and the use of mythology to connect, obscure, and reveal.

Heidi Lau’s Porcelain & Chainmail Accessories Line
In this year’s collection, we collaborated with artist Heidi Lau who creates works that evoke her interests and influences into otherworldly objects that perforate the boundaries between the human and the spiritual. Heidi created unique and limited pieces that are physical manifestations and responses to what safety and celebration can evoke in our world. These wearable sculptures not only foreground the body but also restrain, generate and embellish us within our environment, thus blurring the boundaries between human and objecthood.
The line includes a chainmail harness, choker, and protective talisman. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, and the full collection is featured below:
These protective talismans are designed by the Artist Line creative team, Vivian Sangsukwirasathien and Mei Lum, featuring Heidi's handmade porcelain pieces that are each unique. The talisman comes in 2 colors with a turquoise silk cord and black silk cord with each design featuring vintage silver charms and beads. |
“Heidi crystallizes the symbols and ideas from her larger body of work to envision a world with no hierarchy, and with irresolvable entanglement with the past." - Mei Lum, Owner of Wing on Wo
This chainmail harness combines 3 different porcelain pieces handmade by Heidi Lau with design support from Emilie Jehng of Soft Good Studio.

“Infinite Beginnings was born from a series of conversations Mei and I had about our own safety and the safety of our Asian community and how we might cultivate an embodied feeling – a grounding and safety within ourselves – during a time when it felt and still feels like that is not what is reflected in our realities.” - Vivian Sangsukwirasathien, Creative Director of Artist Line
This chainmail choker comes in a myriad of glaze colors (white, celadon, pink, and silver).
