Handpainted Mystical Gourd by Singha Hon

This hand-painted gourd carries a wish for the upcoming year of the Fire Horse and is an homage to the work of community organizing and keeping the soul of Chinatown alive and thriving. The two horses gallop around the base of the gourd, chasing one another playfully while their fires connect through torches held by a figure inspired by Nezha, a protection deity, who holds their light aloft. A golden monkey sits astride one of the horses astride, blowing a gourd-horn to vocalize these wishes into reality. 

About the Business: Jade Crystal Craft is a purveyor of Buddhist statues, ritual objects, jewelry, crystals, and jade alike. The shop has been in the neighborhood for over 30 years. They have a vast collection of jade pendants and jewelry, and offer on-hand jewelry assembly of necklaces and bracelets.
