Inspired by her childhood visits to a family temple in Chinatown, Michelle creates a 15-piece collection that not only breathes new life into the shop’s apothecary history but also uses the jar as a vessel to transport us to an otherworldly landscape of a lotus garden. This collection and its meticulously crafted ink painting and sculptural details are a love letter to Michelle’s family, honoring her grandfather’s stories of a heavenly landscape of unfathomable beauty, her father’s painting legacy, and Michelle’s mom and grandmother’s matriarchal power that continue to fuel her in expanding the breadth of her practice.
